Safe-distancing requirements for heating equipment

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s fire-safety regulations prescribe minimum distances to maintain between gas, electric, and other heating equipment and flammable materials. Refer to the diagrams below for examples of required minimum distancing. If space does not allow for securing the prescribed distance, install an insulating barrier of concrete, brick, metal, or another suitable material.
Ensure that any such barrier is structurally stable and poses no risk of collapse.
